Thank you for choosing to join the Raleigh-Wake Human Resource Management Association!  We are confident that you will gain professional and personal value from your membership.  Below please find the membership types and a detailed description of each. 

Note:  Students who are interested in joining RWHRMA should contact their school's student chapter.  For additional information, please contact RWHRMA's College Relations Director.


Annual dues are $30 and do not include monthly chapter meetings; however, several events and programs are provided at no charge for current members during the year.
 

We are proud to be a 100% chapter, which requires all chapter members to be members of SHRM.  Please have your SHRM number available to complete our application.  Your membership with RWHRMA can not be activated until we have confirmed your national SHRM membership number. 

 
 

If you are paying your dues by check, please be sure to print your acknowledgement email and send it along with your membership dues to the address indicated.  BE SURE YOUR NAME IS INDICATED ON YOUR CHECK IF A COMPANY CHECK IS USED.  Your membership can not be activated until the payment is posted, please allow 2-weeks from the time you mail your check.

 

Dues are based on the CALENDAR YEAR with all memberships expiring on 12/31.  Renewal reminders are emailed October - December.  New members joining in October, November or December will expire 12/31 of the following year.

Professional
    

Professional MembersProfessional membership is an individual membership and shall be limited to those individuals who meet one or more of the following criteria:

  • engaged in the profession of human resource management at the exempt level for at least three years;
  • certified by the Human Resource Certification Institute;
  • serve as faculty members holding an assistant, associate or full professor rank in human resource management or any of its specialized functions at an accredited college or university and have at least three years of experience at this level of teaching;
  • engaged as full-time consultants with at least three years experience practicing in the field of human resource management;
  • serve as full-time attorneys with at least three years experience in counseling and advising clients on matters relating to the human resource profession.

Professional members may vote and hold office in the Chapter.

General
    

General Members. General membership is an individual membership for
individuals engaged in the profession of human resource management in an exempt position but do not meet the requirements of Professional Membership. 
General members may vote but not hold an elected office on the board of directors.

Associate
    

Associate Members. Associate membership is an individual membership for those in non-exempt human resource management positions as well as those individuals who do not meet the qualifications of the other classes of membership, but who demonstrate a bona fide interest in human resource management and the mission of the Chapter. This category includes business owner/operators who are responsible for the HR function within a business. Associate members may not vote nor hold office in the Chapter.

Honorary
    

Honorary Membership. Honorary Membership is available to any person who either retires while an active professional RWHRMA member or serves as President of RWHRMA. Any active Professional Member who has served as RWHRMA Chapter President may apply for the Honorary Membership effective 2009 membership year. Honorary Members will have voting privileges and will not pay Chapter Membership Dues.
