SHRM Foundation

The SHRM Foundation is a not-for-profit affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM).  It is governed by a volunteer Board of Directors from the HR profession,  including academics, practitioners, and representatives from SHRM.  The Foundation funds research, publications and education to advance the HR profession and enhance the effectiveness of HR professionals.  To support its important work, the SHRM Foundation conducts an annual fundraising campaign.  All contributions to the Foundation are tax-deductible.

RWHRMA supports the efforts of the SHRM Foundation.  The chapter makes an annual contribution to the Foundation in addition to holding at least one annual event to encourage individual contributions to the Foundation.   For numerous consecutive years, RWHRMA has been recognized by SHRM as a "Chapter Champion" for its activities in support of the Foundation and achieved status as the NUMBER ONE chapter in donations for 2008 with a contribution over $9000.

RWHRMA Members raise over $90 in Spare Change Collection:

At the September monthly meeting, the RWHRMA members really stepped up and supported a part of SHRM that gives back to HR Professionals in big ways.  Our members sent a clear message that we care about the future of HR and those in it!  With just the spare change of the meeting participants, we raised over $92 to go toward the outreach of our SHRM Foundation.  As we know, SHRM Foundation supports HR Professionals with scholarships, research and educational tools to further develop and encourage existing and future professionals in Human Resources.  What a way to give back to an organization which gives us so much!  A special thank you goes out to Bonnie Gibson, Kim Mills and Michele Langley for assisting with the drive that day.  Most importantly, though, we thank you, the RWHRMA member for your continued support of the SHRM Foundation throughout the year.  We hope to have another record year with our chapter's contribution!
