Coming in November .....

 

Raleigh-Wake Human Resources Association is participating in a community services project for Dress for Success in November. 

 

Dress for Success is an international not-for-profit organization offering services designed to help disadvantaged women find jobs and remain employed.  Each Dress for Success client receives one suit when she has a job interview and can return for a second suit or separates when she finds work.

 

The drive in November will be to collect shoes, purses, accessories, jewelry, and women's suits and business attire (sizes 14 or larger).

 

So start looking through your closets to see what you can contribute in November.


 

PHR/SPHR Fall Study Group Filled to Capacity for Fall 2009

The RWHRMA Fall PHR/SPHR certification study sessions began on September 24, 2009.  The classes will run through November 12 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM every Thursday.  The class filled to capacity in advance of the registration deadline! 

 

A class will be coordinated for the Spring Exam window, be sure to watch the calendar and register early once it is posted to make sure you get a seat in the popular exam preparation study group. 


RWHRMA Hosted 3rd Annual Golf Tournament

On July 27th, RWHRMA hosted this exciting 3rd Annual event to benefit the SHRM Foundation.   This successful event again rose the bar and set a new record! 

 

The SHRM Foundation is a 501 (c)(3) not-for-profit affiliate of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM). The Foundation funds research, publications and education to advance the HR profession and enhance the effectiveness of HR professionals. To support its important work, the SHRM Foundation conducts an annual fundraising campaign.


 2009 HR Games

On Saturday, March 21st, students from all three of the Student Chapters under RWHRMA participated in the 2009 HR Games Competition (Meredith College, NC State University and Peace College). The North Carolina games were held in Greensboro at NC A&T.  Spectators were welcome and encouraged to pull for their favorite team(s)! 

Peace College earned the top spot in the championship round!
